Mission

The Episcopal Church at Cornell (ECC) is a community dedicated to knowing God in all the many ways God speaks to and through us in our daily activities, our studies, and throughout the course of our lives. We are an inclusive, questioning community with Christ at our core.

ECC is a gathering place: a chaplaincy in which the contribution of every body–of every race, every gender, every religious background, every sexuality, every academic discipline–is welcomed and celebrated. Student, faculty, staff, alum, or none-of-the-above, we worship together, eat together, and support one another.

ECC is a place of exploration. We are called to know God through the unique vessels of our lives, and we strive to provide meaningful spiritual and pastoral care to any seeking student, as well as facilitate small group programing that reflects the real needs and interests of the Cornell community.

ECC is a Church. We are a reflection of the unfolding and many-membered Body of Christ: inclusive of all, willing grow, and serious in our commitment to love. In the words of the Iona Community, “we invite you to be known and to be fed here.”
